SalesMap Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026.

1. Who we are

SalesMap is a mobile app for field sales people. It helps you find businesses, keep your own customer book (the “Logbook”), plan visits and see simple reports.

The controller of the personal data described here is SalesMap, Ferizli, Sakarya, Türkiye (“SalesMap”, “we”, “us”). Contact: info@sales-map.net · Website: https://sales-map.net.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the SalesMap Android app, the sales-map.net website and emails you exchange with us. The website uses no cookies and no tracking tools.

It does not cover apps you open from SalesMap, such as Google Maps, your phone dialer, WhatsApp or your browser. Their own privacy policies apply.

If you live in Türkiye, our KVKK information notice adds the details required by Turkish law.

What we do not collect. We do not access your device location, contacts, photos or microphone. The area you pick for a search is not your location. Voice notes use your keyboard’s own dictation, not SalesMap. We use no advertising ID and no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools.

Business data from Google. Names, addresses, ratings, phone numbers and websites of businesses are shown to you from Google but are not stored on our servers. When you save a business, we keep only its Google place ID next to the name you type.

On your device. Your sign-in session is kept in the device’s secure storage. The app also keeps your preferences, your last search and search area, scheduled reminders and exported CSV or PDF files. Reminders can show a customer name and a short note; your phone’s lock screen privacy setting applies. Signing out removes all of this except your preferences.

4. Why we use your data and on what legal basis

We use personal data only for the purposes below. The legal basis column applies to users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom under the GDPR and UK GDPR.

Reminders, the morning route notice and the weekly summary are created on your phone. You switch them on or off in Android settings and in the app; no reminder content is sent to our servers.

5. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • We do not send marketing emails.
  • We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects. Daily and monthly usage limits apply equally to every account of the same plan.

6. Who receives your data

We share personal data only with the recipients below, and only what each one needs.

  • Our hosting and sign-in provider runs our database, sign-in and server functions for us, under a data processing agreement. Its servers are in the European Union.
  • Our email delivery provider sends verification and password emails for us, under a data processing agreement.
  • Google (Google Maps Platform). When you search, our server sends Google your search words, the chosen area and the app language; when you open a business, it sends that business’s place ID. We do not send Google your email, name or account ID. Google handles these requests under its own terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Google Play distributes the app and, when subscriptions are available, takes your payment. Google processes payment data under its own terms; we receive only the subscription status and a purchase reference.
  • Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants, under a duty of confidentiality.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, and a buyer or successor if the service is transferred, under this policy.

When you choose to call, message, open a website, start directions in Google Maps or share an export, the data goes to the app or person you chose.

7. International transfers

We are based in Türkiye. Our hosting is in the European Union. Google may process requests in the United States and other countries.

When personal data moves between countries, we use the safeguards the law requires. For the EEA and UK these are adequacy decisions (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified) or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum. For Türkiye they are the safeguards in Article 9 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguard.

9. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can do the following:

  • See and copy your data. Export your Logbook as CSV in the app, or ask us for a copy of everything we hold.
  • Correct it. Edit your profile and records in the app, or ask us.
  • Delete it. In the app: Profile → Legal → Delete my account. This deletes your account and records at once. Without the app: https://sales-map.net/en/delete-account or email us.
  • Object or ask us to stop. Email info@sales-map.net.

Please write from the email address of your account so we can confirm it is you. We reply within one month, or within 45 days where a US state law allows that period, and tell you if we need more time.

If you are in the EEA or the UK

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you also have the right to restrict our use of your data, to receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable format, and to object at any time to use based on legitimate interests. You may complain to the data protection authority where you live or work. EEA authorities are listed by the European Data Protection Board; in the UK it is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

If you are in the United States

Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah or Virginia), you may have the right to know and access the personal data we hold, to delete it, to correct it, to get a portable copy, and to opt out of its sale, sharing for targeted advertising, or profiling. We do none of these three activities. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. If we refuse a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the word “Appeal”; if we still refuse, you may contact your state attorney general. California residents may use an authorised agent.

California notice at collection. In the last 12 months we collected these categories: identifiers (email, account ID, IP address); commercial information (subscription status); internet or other electronic activity (searches and in-app usage); professional information (the business records you choose to store); and sensitive personal information limited to your account login, used only to provide the service. We did not collect precise geolocation. Sources, purposes, recipients and retention are in sections 3, 4, 6 and 8. We have not sold or shared personal information, including that of anyone under 16.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We do not track you across other apps or websites, so there is nothing for these signals to switch off. We honour them anyway.

10. Customer records you store

Your Logbook may hold personal data about other people, such as a contact person’s name, phone number or your notes about a visit. For that data you decide what to store and why, so you are its controller. We store and process it only on your instructions, as your processor, under section 6 of our Terms of Use.

Please store only what you need for your business relationship, keep it accurate, and do not record sensitive data such as health, religion or political views. Delete records you no longer need.

11. Children

SalesMap is a business tool for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

12. Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Every request is checked against your account on the server, and each account can see only its own data. Your sign-in session is kept in the phone’s secure storage, and the app is excluded from Android backups. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

13. Changes to this policy

We will post any change here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
